چکیده

This paper analyzes the way to increase the energy efficiency of three phase converters applied to control AC motor drives, through the reduction of the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage and the reduction in the switching losses in the PWM inverter. The aim is to develop a system which selects the most adequate modulation technique required to simultaneously optimize the harmonic distortion and the commutation losses in the electronic switches that constitute the power converter. The developed modulation techniques are the sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM), the sinusoidal pulse width modulation with the injection of a third harmonic of zero sequence (THIPWM), the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) and different discontinuous modulation techniques (DPWM2, DPWMMAX and PWMMIN). The validation of the proposed method has been carried out on an experimental system based on the digital signal processor DSP56F807 from the commercial firm Motorola. Key-Words: Digital PWM Modulation, Energy Optimization, Switching Losses, THD Reduction

A Hybrid Switching Technique for Single-Phase AC-Module PV System to Reduce Power Losses and Minimize THD

This paper proposes a hybrid switching technique for a domestic PV system with AC-module architecture. In this PV system, independent control of PV modules, which are directly connected to DC terminals of a single-phase cascaded multilevel inverter, makes module-level MPPT possible to extract maximum available solar energy, especially in partial shading conditions. As one of the main contributi...

Performance Scrutiny of Two Control Schemes Based on DSM and HB in Active Power Filter

This paper presents a comparative analysis between two current control strategies, constant source power and generalized Fryze current, used in Active Power Filter (APF) applications having three different modulation methods. The Hysteresis Band (HB) and first-order Delta-Sigma Modulation (DSM) as well as the second-order DSM is applied. The power section of the active power filter is viewed as...

Optimized Space Vector Modulation and Reg PWM: A Reexamination

The relationship between space vector modulation and regular-sampled PWM techniques for hard-switching PWM inverters and rectifiers are reexamined in this paper. Space vector modulation with optimized apportioning of null vector time that results in minimum current THD is investigated and is compared with previously known methods. The conventional optimal regular-sampled PWM method and its rela...

Space Vector Modulation Technique to Reduce Leakage Current of a Transformerless Three-Phase Four-Leg Photovoltaic System

Photovoltaic systems integrated to the grid have received considerable attention around the world. They can be connected to the electrical grid via galvanic isolation (transformer) or without it (transformerless). Despite making galvanic isolation, low frequency transformer increases size, cost and losses. On the other hand, transformerless PV systems increase the leakage current (common-mode c...
